Lifeguard classes are a combination of independent online coursework and in-person skill work. Students should expect 16 to 20 hours of online modules and 4 to 8 hours of in-person skill development and assessment. New Candidates will meet as a class for 2 sessions. Renewal Candidates will meet as a class for 1 session.

Prerequisites

Must be 15 years of age

Must be able to swim 100 yards freestyle or breaststroke coninuously

Must be able to retreive a 10lb brick from a 6-foot depth

Must be able to tread water WITHOUT use of hands for 1 minute
